Job Description:
Celebration Baptist Church is a growing community of faith in Tallahassee, Florida. The church began twenty-five years ago and weekend attendance currently averages in the 700s in two worship services (both are contemporary in format). Tallahassee is home to the state government of Florida and two major universities. It is one of the nation’s best educated cities. In addition to 300,000 residents, the city also hosts over 60,000 university students. Our community is accustomed to outstanding education opportunities and public services. Tallahassee is a wonderful place to raise a family!

Applicants should be diligent and deeply committed to excellence. The ideal applicant should have experience in building significant youth ministry programs in previous churches. The candidate should thrive on the challenge of reaching significant student populations in multiple, large high schools. The candidate should be able to develop a model for student ministry that incorporates strong family involvement. A ministry that operates as an island separate from the rest of the church is not desired. The goal is to disciple the entire family, not just the student. It is essential that the candidate be able to develop people. Leadership, equipping and team building must exist alongside a love for kids. Proven abilities in strategic thinking and staff team work are essential. This ministry will be evaluated not only by the numbers of students or the quality of the discipleship they experience, but also by the effective mobilization of volunteers who are committed to serving youth. The candidate must be able to bring out the very best in those around him. The ideal candidate must embrace the idea that youth ministry is more than a means to reach students. He or she must see youth ministry as a means to reach entire families with the gospel and see them discipled.

The ideal candidate should have no less than five years full time ministry experience and a Master’s degree. Internships at churches with a history of excellent youth ministry may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree. Preference will be given to married candidates committed to a lifetime of service in youth ministry.
